Here I am. Back to, what feels like, the starting line and yet, it’s not.
Earlier this spring, Posterous announced that doe to their acquisition by Twitter, all hundreds of thousands of sites hosted there would be terminated. (Posterous is where my previous site was hosted.) This happened when I was 8 months pregnant and in the middle of moving/renovating and my husband was changing jobs. Here we are 10 months later and I’m just now getting around to filling up my new, WordPress-based site.
The task of learning to be a new mother, moving to a new city and having a commuting spouse meant my website was put on the back burner. To be honest, the task of deciding what to do with my 1100+ posts was so overwhelming I self-medicated with my digital drugs of choice, Pinterest, YouTube videos and an occasional inflammatory facebook status post while I waited for hubbies to finish the site. I don’t regret the 8 month hiatus from keeping up my site, it was happily consumed in the squishy goodness of my new daughter.
I’m happy to report that I am slowly adding photos to my new site, which, though not done, is usable.
I haven’t made an official goal but I’ll be gradually adding old posts in addition to new posts in the coming months. Crawl. Walk. Run.
