Wild Rumpus

November 14, 2015 /

wild-rumpusI realize I didn’t formally post my decision to exit photography and videography as a profession. Over a year ago I moved my efforts into wrapping up some design work for a favorite client and began my own product design business.

I made the decision to leave photography to offer me more time with my family and had a goal to be paid multiple times for my work and after much research, time, money and effort chose to pursue a pipe dream to make my own company and design my own products. To call it a “wild ride” would be an overstatement but I have learned so much over the last year. I explored many different business ideas and models and experienced a very typical-of-me cycle of rabid enthusiasm to cold hard facts about what each path would cost to be successful.

My company is up and running, though in its infancy. While I feel comfortable with all the marketing, photography, advertising aspect, I am still learning the supply chain and experiencing bouts of success and failure that make life exciting. Once I’m in a full run (versus my current crawl) I’ll be sure and post about my business here. It likely won’t be for a while since I’m 9 1/2 months pregnant with our second Wee Beastie.

Thanks for visiting my site, as “ghost town” as it is. I really do love photography and videography and am happy to continue to enjoy it as I capture the day in day out moments of our growing family.
